Cassidy and Jaguar escape
The second Berlin E-Prix did not end with the race success of Jaguar, but the British company can still leave Germany with some satisfaction. In fact, in addition to the victory of Nick Cassidy during Race 1, the same New Zealand driver still achieved the podium objective in Race 2 too, finishing behind only Da Costa. This means that by adding the two results, #37 has strengthened its leadership in the world championship ranking, overtaking Wehrlein and generating a gap of 14 points on the German pilot. A positive weekend not only in terms of the Drivers’ championship, but also the Constructors’ championship. Jaguar, with 8 races remaining in the championship, is now making its first move on its rivals Porsche, now lagging behind by 54 points. The next step could take place in two weeks in Shanghai, for another double-header weekend scheduled for 25 and 26 May.
