Francis Ngannou was shocked by a very serious loss: his 15-month-old son died
A drama took place a few hours ago in the world of sport, in particular in that of MMA where the world champion Francis Ngannou announced the death of his 15-month-old son. The athlete, of Cameroonian origin and with French citizenship, gave one of those pieces of news that no one would ever want to read with a long and heartbreaking post on social media.
The child, named Kobe, lost his life in circumstances that are still unclear. The announcement was made by the father himself who, after realizing that the press and the media were already leaking the news, preferred to anticipate it.
The former UFC athlete and champion dedicated a post on Instagram to the child where you can read the following:
“Too early to leave, but he's gone. My baby, my partner, my Kobe was full of life and joy. Now he lies lifeless. I shouted his name several times, but he never answered me.”
The post continues with a heart-breaking paternal dedication:
“Next to him I was the best version of myself and now I have no idea who I am. Life is so unfair that it hits us where it hurts the most. How do you deal with something like that? How can you live with it? Please help me, if you have an idea because I really don't know what to do and how to deal with this situation.”
As you can imagine, there were many messages of condolence and emotion under the post. Fans, friends, relatives, strangers, anyone wanted to give a hug, albeit virtual, to the fighter. Conor McGregor, an MMA athlete, also expressed his pain under the post.
Francis Ngannou's coach explained that they have been heavy days and that no words can comfort a family that is experiencing this immense pain. The coach's comment ends with a sentence that should make everyone reflect: “Say 'I love you' more often, tomorrow is not guaranteed.”
The athlete has always been very reserved about his family, so much so that photos of his children appear neither on social media nor on the web. And it is precisely in these moments that a lot of confidentiality and respect is needed towards those who have suffered bereavement.
