The actor donald glover, star of the satirical series “Atlanta”, suffered a racist attack while filming the third season of the FX and Hulu production. He told it that way in a recent interview in which he also revealed when he plans for the story starring African-Americans to come to an end.
In a press conference (via Insider), Glover commented on how the incident took place just the first night they were in London with the team.

The actor was with his co-writers Stefani Robinson and Stephen Glover (his younger brother) outside a bar when a group of (apparently) Londoners harassed them.
How did the incident occur?
“This group of people is approaching. And maybe one of them notices or recognizes Donald,” Stephen said. “And she stops and they start asking if they know of anywhere around here to get something to drink,” he continues.

According to Stephen, it was at least one woman and two or three other men. “I think we were talking to them for a second,” she continued her recounting.
One of the men started saying that writers from Atlanta could come into the bar because “you all carry ‘hammers’”pointed out the youngest of the Glover.

”Yes, all the ‘atlanta’ writers are black. So, he was making a reference that we all have ‘hammers,’ and that we can just barge into this place, which we kind of ignore,” he explained.
For her part, Stefani Robinson said the group had a hard time understanding what they were trying to tell them at first. And it is that ‘hammer’ is a way of referring to ‘weapon’.

However, the offense became more obvious when the bullies’ comments were more direct.
“It got to a point like the innuendo was lost on us, he got specific and said: ‘You are black, you have been to jail and you do things like that’. As if he kept doubling down,” Robinson recounted.

The outcome of the attack
Stephen said that the incident ended when, while talking to a girl on the street, the man came back and took her away claiming that they were going to rape her.
“She is talking to us. And then after a minute, the guy just runs back down the street and grabs her and throws her over her shoulder, and he’s like, ‘Runs. They’re going to rape you, like, rape you!’”, said the writer.

“The girl was literally like ‘I’m sorry’ as they took her away,” described Stephen, who was as perplexed by the incident as his peers.
”We were standing there like, ‘What has happened?’”, added Donald Glover between laughs during the press conference.
