Serbian Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw from the French Open (Roland Garros) due to a knee injury. The Roland Garros organizers explained in an official statement on Tuesday that Djokovic will not continue his tournament due to an injury to the meniscus of the right knee, according to an MRI.
The statement added that this injury will force defending champion Djokovic to withdraw from the quarter-final match against Norwegian Casper Ruud, which was scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday. Thus, Casper Ruud will qualify for the semi-finals at Roland Garros for the third time in a row. As for Djokovic, he will lose 1,600 points and lose the top spot in the world rankings to Italian Jannik Sinner.
