Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, revealed that the release of Marvel Studios productions will be more limited than in the past. All with the intention of improving its quality, and that will apply to both television and cinema.
The information comes from the results report that corresponds to the second quarter of the fiscal year. Before the company’s shareholders, Iger commented that the idea is to release two or three MCU films throughout the year.
As for TV series, there would be a maximum of two on Disney+. The idea is to prioritize quality over quantity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All to ensure the ‘health’ of the universe formed by Kevin Feige and his collaborators for the future.
We recommend: Giancarlo Esposito confirmed that he will be part of the MCU.
Before those gathered at the meeting, Bob Iger commented ‘I’ve been working hard with the studio to reduce their production and focus more on quality, which is particularly right with Marvel’.
The CEO of Disney pointed out ‘We are slowly going to reduce the volume and go to maybe two TV series a year instead of the four that were, and we will reduce our film production from maybe four a year to two or at most three’.
Then Bob Iger highlighted ‘and we’re working hard on what that path is, we have a couple of good movies in 2025 and then we’re heading into more Marvel’s Avengers, which we’re very excited about’.
Iger is referring to Captain America: Brave New World and the films of the avengers in the years to come. He also highlights that the sequels they are working on are ‘unsurpassed’which at Disney will give priority to original films and continuations but prioritizing those that belong to franchises.
For 2024 it is only scheduled Deadpool & Wolverine in the cinema and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries on television for Disney+. The new plans are for 2025 and beyond.
