By now, it is clear that Disney + wants to capitalize on all of its successful franchises to create exciting new content for the streaming service. In addition to fabulous IPs like Marvel and Star Wars, now the Mouse House will produce a film that tells the story of how it was created Disneyland.
To the surprise of many, it will be David Gordon Green, famous director of horror movies like Halloween Kills and The Exorcist, who will direct this future project. Accompanying this filmmaker we have Evan spiliotopoulos, who previously worked as a screenwriter on the films of Beauty and the Beast, Heffalump and others of Disney Studios.
The bad news is that, outside of these executives, we do not know who else will be attached to the project or its possible release date. Considering that they have only just started working on it, it is easy to assume that it will not be until 2023 when we can finally enjoy it in Disney +.
Editor’s note: Leaving aside the choice of director, I think a movie about the origins of Disneyland does not seem very attractive to me. Yes, we have seen other movies about building successful businesses and some of them have proven to be quite good, but I don’t know if Disney parks have enough interesting elements to represent them all in one feature film.
