The platform of Disney Plus has changed the name of one of its series, which recounts the murder of a young woman in the Italian town of Avetranaafter the complaint from its City Council after it considered that it defamed the town.
The series, which was titled This is not Hollywood: Avetranawill be called This is not Hollywood and will therefore withdraw the name of the town after the request of the mayor, Antonio Lazzi. He considers that this title “it already suggests” a “prejudice” intended to bring “attention more to the territory than to the case.”
The series will premiere this Wednesday, although it was scheduled to premiere on October 25, but the Italian justice provisionally suspended the broadcast after the complaint filed by the Avetrana City Council.
“We will ensure that the Avetrana name is removed from any form of advertising, already disseminated, for the film event in question, because Avetrana cannot and should not be identified only with the terrible crime,” Lazzi has declared.

The first episode of the series, by director Pippo Mezzapesa, recently premiered at the Rome Film Festival and the four 60-minute episodes will be available on the Disney plus platform starting this Wednesday.
