—What encouraged you to make the sequel to 'Pirates in Callao' with this virtual reality version?
—I have always wanted to do 'Pirates in Callao 2'. After this film I have directed ten more films; among them, 'Condorito', 'The Dolphin', 'A Giant Adventure', 'Milagros: An Extraordinary Bear'. But I had always had this idea of making a continuation of 'Pirates in Callao', so this was an incredible opportunity to do it: it is a 20-minute experience with virtual reality technology and the concept is called 'Adventure Spring'. You have to imagine how it works a little, you have to put on virtual reality glasses, a latest model that has been released, and you see the cinema as is, but generated with a computer; you have your screen in front of you and the movie starts on the 2D screen. Suddenly, the movie starts and you see the cinema in virtual reality. Plus, it's interactive. This is our first complex experience with virtual reality in 'Piratas en el Callao'.

—What encouraged you to release this sequel to 'Piratas en el Callao' after 20 years?
—'Pirates in Callao'We made it almost 20 years ago, with 11 people in a garage, for 11 months of production, and our most modern machine was four years old at that time. So, we were always very limited with 'Pirates in Callao' and obviously the animation is quite basic, limited by a budgetary issue. I always said that I would like to do the second part of this film, but as it should. Instead of making a second part for traditional cinema, let's say, we have made this experience because we have been doing virtual reality for seven years.and seven years ago, I said: “This with 'Pirates' would be incredible,” because there is time travel, there are pirates, the scales that you can play with because you have ships, the Real Felipe, but one has to experience it to be able to understand it, because it is totally different from what you see in any cinema.
—Why is the film 'Pirates in Callao: The Return of L'Hermite' with virtual reality only on Cineplanet de San Miguel?
—Now we are in Cineplanet, but later we are going to expand into other Cineplanets. But we with Chaska Entertainment We are going to set up virtual reality movie theaters in other places where it is not Cineplanet. So we are already setting up our complete rooms. We have two locations ready that we cannot give much detail about yet, because it is going to be quite a launch, most likely the launch of the first location will be this month.
—Is there a difference between 3D and 4D cinema and virtual reality?
—There is a lot of difference because in 3D cinema, you put on the glasses and see a different image for each eye. So this creates a deep issue for you. You are totally immersed in a 3D world, you see a character near you. It's like being in a virtual world and you have the character who is 10 centimeters or 100 centimeters tall.

—How has 'Pirates in Callao: The Return of L'Hermite' fared in the cinema?
—In principle it has gone very well for us, we are doing tests with cold schedules, which are from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm; That is, the worst schedules and it has worked very well for us. For example, on Sunday we fill 60% at that time and on Saturday we fill 50%, normally those times are filled from 15% to 30% depending on the movie. So, if we are very enthusiastic about that response, which is especially during cold hours, then we will try prime times, which are from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm We have people who have even repeated the film.

—How do you see the future of Peruvian animated cinema?
—One of the things I see is that animated films work well because they are easy to export., not necessarily because in the Peruvian market it is necessarily seen a lot. I mean, people watch it, but they watch it like any other movie, but the interesting thing with animation is that everyone sees it. 'A giant adventure' we are selling at Czechoslovakia either GermanyI don't remember, but the market is huge, that's what's interesting.
By the way, another project that we will do with 'Adventure cinema'. There are going to be four experiences a year, and we have the second and third that are in pre-production. The third will be horror and the truth is that it will be a challenge for people to pass it, it will be animated. We have already done small horror things, six minutes long, several years ago, and 10% of people take off their lenses, they can't see it, they don't pass it. It will be for more of a teenage audience, unlike 'Pirates in Callao'.
