The Halo Infinite tech test is back and with it the Halo Infinite performance review on Xbox from Digital Foundry. Over this weekend, just like last week, the Halo Infinite test has received praise across the board so far. And Digital Foundry’s analysis was no exception. They disagreed to delve into the game’s performance modes on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, finding that they have received huge improvements compared to the previous technical test.
Starting with Xbox Series X, performance mode (accessible through the quality / performance switch) runs with a DRS window of around 1080p to 1440p at about 120fps nearly blocked, which Digital Foundry describes as a triumph. For its part, the quality mode seems to offer a dynamic upscaling range of 1800p-2160p at 60fps.

Digital Foundry discusses Halo Infinite’s performance mode on Xbox
In the analysis of Halo Infinite’s performance mode on Xbox, the medium states that the most surprising improvement is the Xbox One X, since the performance mode goes from 1080p to 1440p at 60fps. In comparison, the quality mode has only been able to hit 30fps so far. Everything else is also said to have not changed much compared to the first test, with the Xbox One S struggling with “aggressive dynamic resolution scaling.”
New Accessibility Features Added on Xbox
For its part, according to Digital Foundry, the version of Xbox Series S essentially runs at 60 frames per second at 1080p. Interestingly, this time the 120hz mode for the Xbox Series S has disappeared, which is said to actually run smoother than the equivalent mode for the Xbox Series X.
