The Telta plant, based on the case of the arrested chief communications officer of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin, received a contract in 2015 for the supply of a TA-88 field telephone to the military department in the amount of 278.9 million rubles. Details about the enterprise from the case of the Deputy Chief of the General Staff on Friday, May 24, are reported TASS.
According to the agency, the plant also had a government contract for the supply of telecommunications equipment for the needs of Voentelecom in the amount of 163.6 million rubles. Investigators believe that as a result, Lieutenant General Shamarin received 36 million rubles from the general director and main enterprise of the Perm enterprise. The bribe was intended to increase the volume of products supplied under government contracts for the needs of the Ministry of Defense and general patronage.
On May 23, the head of the Main Communications Directorate, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin, who is the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, was detained by law enforcement officers. Searches were carried out in his house, and he himself was taken in for questioning. During his arraignment in court, he pleaded not guilty to receiving a particularly large bribe.
