Destiny 2 it's an FPS MMO, but it could also be something different, like a Dating Sim. It's not a strange idea of ours, but something real, even if you will probably never be able to play it. Some Bungie developers have in fact created a Dating Sim Destiny 2 themed.
In a recent interview reflecting on the current Season of the Wish, a group of Destiny 2 developers responded to a question about game modes within the MMO and a recent increase in roguelike-style content. Designer Clayton Kisko said the team is satisfied with the welcome reserved for roguelike-style content in general, and that more of this type of content is “definitely on the cards and something we want to continue to explore” as the developers experiment with different genres and gameplay paces.
The PR manager of the interview then jokingly asked if these experimental genres included a dating simulation, quickly adding, “Don't answer that question.” But lead narrative designer Jonathan To responded and said, “We have, as they say, game jams, and things like that have been done in game dev jams within Bungie.”
Strange Dating Sims and Where to Find Them
It's nothing new that games that have little connection to the Dating Sim genre propose something of this type. Previously we've seen Loverwatch – clearly based on Overwatch 2 – and Dead by Daylight's even stranger Hooked on You.
Perhaps the great passion for the genre and the fact that the issue is now in the public domain will push Bungie to publish this Dating Sim.
