The Democrats go after the Latino vote. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced this Thursday the launch of a bilingual advertising campaign in radio and Hispanic print and digital media focused on Latino voters in important states across the country with key races.
The campaigns I Will Vote and I’m going to vote will focus on the states of Texas, Florida, New YorkColorado, Connecticut and Maryland, with the aim of “encourage Democratic participation in decisive elections.”
The DNC highlights the importance of Hispanic voters in being able to keep Democratic congressmen in the Senate and ensure a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.
Thus, Democrats trust the “chances of defeating” Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Rick Scott and “conquer” the House districts controlled by this formation.
The campaigns will take place from now until the day of the presidential elections, next November 5.
“In this election cycle, Latinos will make the difference. Our community has the power to implement change and Democrats are investing to ensure we reach voters where they are,” DNC co-executive director Monica Guardiola said in a statement.
The campaign in Spanish will be on radio and print
Spanish radio spots will cover areas of Texas (Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Houston-Galveston, Las Cruces, Odessa, San Antonio, Killeen-Temple, Laredo, Mcallen-Brownsville), New York (Nassau-Suffolk , Hudson Valley) and Florida (Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Tampa-St.Petersburg, Orlando, West Palm Beach-Boca Raton).
In Connecticut they will reach radio stations located in the Hartford-New Britain area, in addition to Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland.
Regarding print and digital publications, the advertising campaigns will appear in El Nuevo Herald and El Sol Latino (Florida), El Diario de El Paso, El Mundo, La Voz de Houston, El Mañana, Al Día Wednesday, Conexión (the six from Texas) and Noticias Long Island and Impacto Latin News (New York), among others.
“We will make sure that Latinos know that Democrats are the ones who will defend our freedomswith plans to reduce the cost of living, support small business owners, expand access to healthcare and create new jobs,” Guardiola added.
