Until this week, Demi Moore (New Mexico, United States, 61 years old) had only walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival once, in 1995. Then she did not even present one of her works, but rather came as the consort of the one she was her husband, Bruce Willis, who premiered The fifth element.
In that edition, the 50th edition of the prestigious French festival, the actress sported a haircut down to the nape of her neck, the same one she had worn on screen in Some good men. He would still have to cut it more, an emblematic shave to create the image of Lieutenant O’Neil a few months later.
27 years have passed and Moore returns to the Croisette, but this time with a mane of hair that falls below his waist. He also has a full agenda and several projects in the pipeline that show his new moment of glory in Hollywood, after several years missing from major productions. Before that, Moore had starred in countless blockbusters and iconic films of the eighties and nineties such as Ghost either Striptease, with which she became the highest paid woman in the industry.
A pioneer in demanding equal pay, in those years she was quickly branded as ‘difficult’, she earned the nickname Gimme Moore (give me more) and the reputation of being greedy for doing what men have been doing since the celluloid industry was established in the hills of Los Angeles. Fortunately, times have changed and the actress now claims to be a pioneer in that fight, as well as fully fit to recover with her career after more than a decade in which she appeared in the media more for her personal life, which for her work.

Return to the spotlight
To step again on the red carpet of the Palace of Festivals and Congress, Moore chose a dress with a strapless neckline and column cut from the Armani haute couture collection. A few hours later he changed into a sequin-studded turquoise blue Balenciaga design, again with a similar pattern, which he accessorized with a stunning Chopard choker.
With that blue dress she became godmother of the Chopard Trophy for emerging talent, a role that in past editions has been played by heavyweights in the sector such as Cate Blanchett, Robert De Niro and Natalie Portman. This year’s winners were Mike Faist (star with Zendaya and Josh O’Connor of Challengers) and Sophia Wilde (from the horror film Talk to Me).
At the award ceremony, the interpreter made clear her support for actors who are starting out: “I feel very lucky to have been chosen godmother of these two extraordinary talents,” she said at the Carlton Beach. “As your godmother, remember that I’m not just here for the fun part and that you don’t have to do it all alone.”

In this triumphant return to the front row, fashion has been her ally. Supported by her stylist, Brad Goreski, who was Rachel Zoe’s right-hand man, the protagonist from An indecent proposal has become ubiquitous on the best dressed lists in recent months. In January it premiered Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, Ryan Murphy’s miniseries in which he played the role of socialite Ann Woodward. And since then her face has not been missing from the big events of the season: she was at the Met Gala, dressed in a theatrical creation by Harris Reed; she at the Gucci Cruise show at the Tate Modern in London; at the party Vanity Fair after the Oscars, or sitting next to Anna Wintour in the front row of the Carolina Herrera show last February in New York.
His time on the Croisette is not over either. We will see her again in Cannes, because she still has her biggest milestone left: she will premiere The Substance, together with Dennis Quaid, a film that participates in the official competition of the contest. For that occasion he may go back to sequins, but what is certain is that he will rock his hair again on the festival carpet. He won’t cut it anymore. Because she likes it extra long and because she likes to show it off, at 61 years old, as a declaration of intent: “I remember hearing someone saying that when women get older they shouldn’t wear their hair long. And it’s something that stuck in my mind,” she said a couple of years ago in the magazine People. “Who says that? He made me think that if hair can grow and there is nothing harmful to our health, why should we cut it? “I don’t feel comfortable with rules that have no real justification.” A summary of Moore’s philosophy, which she applies to hair, but also to her career.
