Development studio KeokeN Interactive has launched the Deliver Us Home crowdfunding campaign, the long-awaited third installment of the Deliver Us series. Unfortunately the studio is in dire straits and if it doesn’t get enough funding the project will never be realized and the trilogy won’t be completed.
Deliver Us Home looks like a single player sci-fi experience in which we go in search of a new home for humanity, now on the brink of extinction. After the presentation of the game with a teaser last week, now it has been Kickstarter campaign launched, which aims to raise at least 100,000 euros in thirty days to re-establish the studio, hit by numerous layoffs. It will end on July 11, 2024.
Give KeokeN a chance
“Taking matters into your own hands after years of pitching is very liberating,” explains Koen Deetman, one of the studio’s founders, who continues, “it has motivated us to work hard in the last few weeks. Our creativity has reached an all-time high and we worked flat out to orchestrate the campaign, trailer and demo that supporters can play. It’s truly a sign of our love and dedication to the craft of making video games.”
As the official press release also explains, the Deliver Us Home campaign arrives at a time of great turbulence within the sector, the effects of which have deeply affected KeokeN. “It’s a tall order to create both a crowdfunding campaign and a demo with a bare-bones staff, while at the same time helping our former friends and colleagues find new jobs,” explained Paul Deetman.
However, Deliver Us Home scores a return to the very roots of the series which the brothers are excited to share with fans new and old. “The game emphasizes mystery, majestic desolation, the thrill of the unknown and offers moments of pure wonder,” it explains. “Combined with our vision of greater player autonomy and a largely linear approach, players will be faced with a unique adventure. At the same time, the campaign forms the basis for shaping the future of KeokeN, with a more leaner and more experienced, better suited to a sustainable future as an independent developer.”
