Defense forces the large international Northern Forest 24 combat exercise starts today in the Rovajärvi area.
About 4,500 Finns, 2,000 Americans and 400 Norwegians will participate in the exercise.
From the defense forces, the Kainuu brigade and Jaeger brigade, the Uti jaeger regiment, the Border Guard and institutions under the General Staff will participate in the exercise. The exercise is led by the Kainuu brigade.
Defense forces by the goal of the exercise is to maintain and develop military cooperation and performance with international partners and to strengthen Finland’s ability to receive military aid.
The exercise lasts until Friday next week.
