The closed session will be held on Friday to discuss the events in the Middle East, after Israel carried out the largest military operation in the West Bank in years.
The diplomats added that the UAE requested the meeting “in light of the troubling developments in Palestine,” according to Reuters.
On Monday, the UAE condemned the attacks carried out by the Israeli forces on the Palestinian city of Jenin and its camp through air strikes and gunfire, which resulted in deaths and injuries.
In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry stressed the need to immediately stop the repeated and escalating campaigns against the Palestinian people.
On Tuesday evening, our correspondent reported the start of the Israeli army’s withdrawal from the Jenin area, on the second day of one of the largest Israeli military operations in the West Bank in years.
The operation, which the IDF said was aimed at destroying the infrastructure and weapons of armed groups in the camp, began with a drone attack in the early hours of Monday, with more than 1,000 Israeli troops deployed.
