Project M is the new game from the Korean studio Hound 13, creators of Hundred Soul.
The Asian video game industry Beyond Japan has stepped on the gas in recent years and we are getting more interesting projects from countries like China and South Korea. Korean studios have come up with some very promising proposals lately, like Project Relic, an action game that reminded us of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the Souls in its playability.
On this occasion, also from Korea we get this Project M, a dark fantasy action RPG that stands out for an impressive visual section and extreme rawness in terms of its violence, with explosive impacts that do not skimp on blood or dismemberment. The game has been presented at the Unreal Summit Online 2021 event in South Korea.
An imposing visual section and a very expressive violenceApparently in the trailer, the title could look like a Souls-style gameplay due to the position of the camera in some of the shots, however, when the action unfolds, it is more reminiscent of titles hack’n slash. The combat is impressive thanks to the many effects, such as the large amounts of earth that jump with each blow of the boss, the parts of the enemy that explode in pieces with each attack and the large amount of blood, which even stains the camera.
Hound 13, the study that has carried out the game are responsible for Hundred soul, an RPG for mobile devices that has enjoyed very positive reviews on both Google Play and the App Store. Project M is located in development for PC and consoles, although no further information has been given. Also from South Korea, last September we received the new trailer for Project Eve, another promising hack’n slash with a manganime aesthetic that reminded us of Bayonetta and NieR: Automata.
