On Tuesday, DANA in the Valencian Community devastated everything, including the lives of more than 140 people (data update on Thursday afternoon) – another three have died in Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia, where the temporary, especially in Cádiz and Málaga—and there are dozens of missing people in the province of Valencia, in Letur (Albacete) and in Cuenca. It has left floods, considerable material and personal damage in its wake, and devastating images throughout the region and also in other communities. It is already one of the worst natural disasters in recent decades in Spain and the worst cold drop of the 21st century.
On Tuesday at 12:20 noon, the State Emergency Coordination Center warns of a worrying increase in water flow. At 1:00 p.m., the president of the Valencian Generalitat, Carlos Mazón (PP), came out to say that there is no danger and that at 6:00 p.m. DANA will have subsided in Valencia. At that time the universal flood had already broken out. Mazón did not come out again. The Valencia Civil Protection alarm, dependent on its government, went off at 8:12 p.m., when thousands of people were already trapped.
