Ducati’s domination continues
At Silverstone, on a track where victory had eluded them in 2023, Ducati dominated, placing five bikes in the top-5 and all eight Desmosedicis on the track in the top-10. The General Manager of Ducati Corse Luigi Dall’Igna he underlined the show of strength of the Borgo Panigale company: “The halfway point of the Championship offers us the ninth seasonal victory in the 10 races contested, a beautiful all-Ducati podium that is repeated for the seventh consecutive time, and a finishing order that, in addition to recording all 8 of our bikes in the top 10, once again sees 5 Ducatis in the top 5 positions with all the teams represented”.
Analysing the performances of the individual drivers Dall’Igna praises the weekend of Enea Bastianini: “On a circuit where our opponents were particularly competitive, Enea’s star shone, even more brilliantly because it was expected and deserved. A weekend to frame, finally, a fabulous double between the Sprint Race and the amazing victory on Sunday. Fierce and irreverentperfect in managing technical and competitive resources with determination and talent, confirmed in the best way all his qualities and great preparation. He had more than anyone else and it showed: in the first phase of the race, thanks to an excellent qualification, he was already with the leaders and the inexorable pace that he was able to impose, as well as in his extraordinary comebacks, not only led him to ride faster than everyone but also to be ready when it was time to take the lead, and so it was”.
These are the words reserved for Jorge Martin: “Martin, for his part, did a great race, knowing full well what he had to do, how and how important it was to finish the race, even though he tried to win it first; perhaps conditioned by the fall in Germany, after this weekend he finds himself at the top of the World Championship and that’s how it is”. Positive according to Dall’Igna the podium of Francesco Bagnaia after the slip in the Sprint: “Even for Pecco, when he had no more, it was important to finish the GP, limit the damage without taking unnecessary risks, aware that in the economy of a Championship this can make the difference, especially after the “zero” on Saturday. And yet, as long as he could, he also tried to win, leading half the race after a start in which he imposed himself with great authority”.
The future official pilot Marc Márquez he finished the GP in fourth position, a good result according to Dall’Igna at the end of a difficult weekend: “An interlocutory weekend also for Marc Marquez who nevertheless took a very good fourth place after the vicissitudes of a complicated Friday and the fall on Saturday”.
