With the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next month, interviews with the actors of this film have begun to emerge. In one particular conversation, Benedict Cumberbatch, actor in charge of the Sorcerer Supreme, spoke about his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Homenoting that the tape’s problems were not caused by his fault.
During the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it is mentioned that this character will have to pay for his arrogance, referring to the spell that brought villains from other universes into the MCU. Thus, Cumberbatch defended his character in an interview with Total Film, saying it wasn’t his fault.. This was what he commented:
“I know we all love Peter Parker, but can we go back to the point where the spell is broken about six times?
I think it’s too easy to write it off as, ‘He’s going to have to pay for his arrogance.’ Actually, it’s not all arrogance. I think part of that is a very calculated risk. But we’ll see where that takes him [en Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness].
It’s crazy, for sure, what happens in our movie. It is quite complete. And it’s big, man. He is very, very ambitious. And if we succeed, I think it could be one of the [películas de Marvel] largest we have seen so far.
