The FA accused him a few weeks ago of “improper conduct” and if this accusation goes ahead, the footballer could receive a sanction.

Cristiano had until this Monday to respond to the accusation and his coach, Erik Ten Hagconfirmed that he has discussed the issue with the footballer and that he will not accept it.

“I have spoken with him and he will not accept the accusation,” said the Dutch coach in advance of the Europa League match that Manchester United will play this Thursday against Omonia of Cyprus.

The English Football Federation has formally accused Ronaldo of assault for events that occurred on April 9 this year, the player hit the phone of a rival fan, which caused the device to fly into the air. The event was recorded on video by the supporters of the other team.

As reported at the time by the ‘Liverpool Echo’, the affected fan would have been Jake Harding, a 14-year-old minor who is “autistic and suffers from dyspraxia,” according to his mother, Sarah Kelly, to the media in question.
