In the early hours of this Tuesday, May 28, criminals they stole a vehicle that transported more than 2 thousand INE electoral ballots that would be used for the elections this coming Sunday, June 2, in the capital city of Puebla.
He State Electoral Institute confirmed that the robbery occurred in Local District 11 Section 2620, in the Del Valle neighborhood.
According to reports, the INE coordinator went to said place to deliver the electoral packages, apparently without protection, and there the vehicle was stolen along with the material.
According to the data, 2,085 ballots were stolen in total, of which were 695 ballots for governor, 695 for local councils and 695 for the City Council.
Given these events, the State Electoral Institute made the corresponding complaint to the State Attorney General’s Office, who already became aware of the case and began the investigations.
For his part, the National Electoral Institute (INE) reported that the stolen ballots will be deleted and new material will be reprinted, with another page, so that this theft does not affect election day.
