Dramatic search in the Sea of Marmara. There has been no trace of the crew of the freighter Batuhan A for over a day. The ship sank in the Sea of Marmara.
Istanbul – The last signal from Batuhan A came at 7:12 a.m. local time on Thursday (February 15). Since then there has been radio silence, the freighter has sunk and the six crew members are missing. In the Sea of Marmara off the coast of the Türkiye A major search operation is underway for the crew. 275 rescue workers are on duty, including the military.

Although the rescue operation was initiated immediately after the freighter's emergency call at 6:32 a.m., according to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the operation apparently came too late.
