L’occupation of beds by Covid patients in medical departments of Italian hospitals is stable from 4 days to 14%, but there are 9 regions that exceed the critical threshold of 15%: Calabria (25%), Sicily (24%), Basilicata (23%), Abruzzo and Umbria (21%), Sardinia (20%), Puglia (19%), Lazio (18%) and Marche (17 %). Molise and Liguria are right on the threshold of 15%, while all the other regions and autonomous provinces all have lower percentages. This is what is shown by the latest data, updated last night, by the Agency for Regional Health Services (Agenas).
The data also shows that a year ago, precisely on 7 March 2021, the average percentage of hospitalizations, at national level, was 33%.
Employment by Covid-19 patients in the intensive care in Italian hospitals is, on average, equal to 6%, a figure in constant decline and for 3 days stable on this percentage. Exactly one year ago, on March 7, 2021, the percentage was 29%.
As regards the ‘geography’ of the employment of the resuscitation wards, the only region that is above the critical threshold of 10% is Sardinia (at 13%), while Lazio is right on the threshold (10%). The remaining regions and autonomous provinces have lower percentages, the lowest is recorded in the province of Bolzano which is 1%.
