There are 697 coronavirus infections in Basilicata today, 12 February 2022, according to the numbers and covid data of the region’s bulletin. New cases were identified out of a total of 4,461 swabs (molecular and antigenic).
The deceased are a 63-year-old man living in Barile and a 76-year-old woman living in Rotondella, both vaccinated. 714 healings were recorded. There is a first sign of a reduction in pressure on hospitals, to be checked in the next bulletins if it is a trend. The hospitalized for Covid-19 are 100 (-5) of which 7 in intensive care: 49 (of which 4 in TI) in the Potenza hospital; 51 (of which 3 in TI) in that of Matera. Overall, the current positives residing in Basilicata are about 20,100. For the vaccination, 1,899 administrations were made yesterday.
So far 465,181 Lucanians have received the first dose of the vaccine (84.1 percent of the population which amounts to 553,254 residents), 429,578 have received the second (77.6 percent) and 322,959 are the third doses (58.4 percent) , for a total of 1,217,718 administrations carried out. The age groups with the greatest coverage in the order are 70-79 years (first dose 99.88%; second 96.2%; third 87.9%), 60-69 years (first dose 97.98%; second 93.1%; third 80.27%), over 80 (first 96.1%; second 92.9%; third 84.4%) and 16-19 years (first 92.5%; second 82.2% ; third 46.1%). In Basilicata the over 50s who do not comply with the vaccination obligation are about 10 thousand, of which 7 thousand in the 50-59 age group.
