Chihuahua.- Former Governor Javier Corral filed a writ of amparo before the Third District Court, for the proceedings initiated against him by the Secretariat of Public Function and the State Administrative Justice Court, for allegations of alleged illicit enrichment and possible tax evasion.
Corral’s lawsuit, for which federal court file 1940/2024 was opened, was partially admitted regarding the claim that the State Government has disseminated information about the proceedings brought against him, arising from complaints to the Civil Service for the irregular acquisition of a 277 square meter plot of land, with which the former president expanded his house in Ciudad Juárez.
The suit was filed on July 30; on the 31st, the suspension was denied outright, but a provisional suspension was granted, so that the state authority does not issue public statements that could affect the presumption of innocence.
The Third Court scheduled the incidental hearing on August 22 and the constitutional hearing on September 26, according to the Comprehensive System for Monitoring Files of the Federal Judicial Branch.
