Corona in South Africa .. the injuries were in the tens and became in the thousands

Official figures in South Africa show that on the first of November, the country recorded only 106 injuries, and the next day the number of injuries was 169.

But by the end of November and the beginning of September, the picture was reversed in South Africa, as there was a huge rise, and the numbers of injuries recorded a steady rise, with each passing day witnessing more injuries than the one before it.

For example, on November 30, the country recorded 4,373 injuries, and on December 1, the number of injuries reached 8,561, and on the second of December, the recorded cases rose to 11,535, and on Friday, that is, December 3, it recorded more than 16 thousand injuries.

And the American network “CNN” reported that the number of infections has doubled in recent days, confirming concerns about the ability of the new mutant “Omicron” to spread.

The source of the fear of “Omicron” is that it contains a large number of mutations (estimated at 32), which are currently believed to be able to avoid human immunity and infect people who have previously recovered from the epidemic.

And the health authorities in South Africa revealed that some of the new patients with “Covid-19” disease, which is caused by the Corona virus, contracted the disease again through the “Omicron” strain.

Despite the increase in the number of injured, the number of deaths from the disease did not increase, as official figures in South Africa show.

Anne von Gutenberg, a microbiologist at South Africa’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases, says current data shows that HIV infections are less severe.

She added that scientists are currently trying to prove that the disease is less severe through close monitoring in the country, noting that vaccines will continue to protect vaccinators from severe symptoms and admission to hospitals.
