The tournament will distribute a record number of 72 million dollars in participation fees and prizes to the teams, and the champion will receive 16 million of the same currency.
Just for participating, each of the 16 participants will receive a share of 2 million dollarsand thes 40 million dollars remaining will be classified as prizes.
Teams that advance only to the quarterfinals will receive $2 million.
The fourth place team will receive 4 millionsthe third-place team will pocket 5, while the losing finalist will receive 7. The tournament will also cover the teams’ hotel, airfare and ground transportation costs.
When the United States was host, in the 2016 Centennial edition, there was a total prize of 21.5 million dollars, of which 6.5 went to the winner, Chile.
The contest will start on Thursday, June 20, 2024, with the opening match of the Copa América that will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the city of Atalanta, where the MLS team and the NFL Falcons are home. The Argentinadefending champion of this trophy, will be the protagonist of the opening match, facing Canada.
