Gender reveal parties have become more and more common. However, one of the most recent, carried out in Brazil, caused controversy on the Internet and could lead the couple to answer to the environmental authorities.
To find out the sex of the baby, the couple in question used a blue dye in a waterfall. Now, the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment of Tangará da Serra reported that it will notify the owner of the area to report who was responsible for the action in Cachoeira do Queima-Pé, while the inspection teams will investigate the environmental damage caused by the material thrown into the water.

What happened?
The events occurred at the Queima-Pé river waterfall, which is 18 meters high and is located six kilometers from the center of Tangará da Serra.
The site is mainly used for ecological tourism activities.
On social media, images of the sex reveal went viral on Sunday. The place was decorated with blue and pink balloons, as is traditional for the event proposal.
Nevertheless, when it was time to reveal whether it would be a boy or a girl, the water turned completely blue.

The reaction of Internet users was immediate. Some recalled that the initiative can be classified as an environmental crime. Others recalled the possibility of water contamination.
“How absurd! Who is responsible for allowing this joke? It is necessary to sanction this kind of irresponsible attitude towards nature,” wrote one netizen.
Given the comments, the couple deleted the videos published by them on their social networks.

Those responsible will be charged and may be convicted of an environmental crime
In a note, the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment of Tangará da Serra (MT) indicated this Tuesday that “it will notify the owner of the area so that they report who was responsible for the action.”
“The inspection will investigate the environmental damage of the material thrown into the water, the protection of the environment and those responsible will be charged and may be sentenced for an environmental crime”, indicated the authorities.
The Mato Grosso Public Ministry also announced that it will investigate the sex reveal party.
According to the Ministry, the agency received a complaint about the case on Monday afternoon through the Ombudsman’s Office. The case will be forwarded to the Tangará da Serra Prosecutor’s Office to verify the information.
There is still no confirmation on what substance was used to change the color of the water or if it is toxic.
