Furthermore, if a team substitutes one of its players in the case presented, the rival will be given the possibility of an additional substitution that they can make at the time or during the course of the match.
How will the new measure work?
In the event that a player is suspected of having a trauma or concussion on the playing field, the doctors of the corresponding coaching staff are called. At that moment, the doctor rules whether the risk is real and the main referee or the fourth official is informed.
In order to inform fans and the other team of the nature of the substitution, the use of an exclusive pink card will be implemented for these cases.
On the other hand, the player affected by suspected trauma or concussion cannot return to the match under any circumstances, including extra time and a possible penalty shoot-out and, according to the regulations, will be accompanied to the dressing rooms or, if necessary, transferred. to a medical center immediately.
