The Venetians return to win against Perugia while the Igor, orphan of Hancock stops on the bench for a physical problem, does not struggle against Vallefoglia. The tenth day ends tomorrow
Three advances for the tenth day of the championship. Conegliano returns to victory, Novara keeps pace. Bergamo and Chieri in the field
Conegliano-Perugia 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-13)
–
Conegliano returns to victory with ease, dressed in pink for sponsorship reasons, while changing starting six once again. Santarelli ranks Wolosz, Egonu, Vuchkova, De Kruijf, Sylla, Plummer and De Gennaro. Cristofani also makes some changes, changing half a team from Sunday to start with Diop, Melli and Nwakalor. The panthers start very strong with Egonu and Plummer, 11 points in two, both above 70%, Perugia struggles in attack and does not find benefits from the entry of Diouf. In about twenty minutes we go to the change of field. Conegliano continues to control the game easily, thanks to the very inspired De Gennaro and the careful and precise direction of Wolosz. On the Umbrian side we finally see something more with Melandri and Havelkova (15-13). A small blank pass in attack by the home “rosé” brings the score to 22. The Prosecco Doc comes out of the hole with Plummer, a rooftop wall by Vuchkova and an attack on Egonu’s nine meters. Perugia feels the blow and immediately goes under the restart of the game (11-3). Plummer is the most continuous and the most effective, Egonu leaves room for Frosini in the final. Only a few errors by Conegliano concedes a less heavy liability to the guests. Conegliano will now be away from Palaverde for about twenty days: Thursday is the trip to Hungary for the Champions League, then the World Cup in Ankara from the 15th and another trip to Poland.
Novara-Vallefoglia 3-0 (27-25, 25-16, 25-17)

In the second advance of the tenth of the championship, Igor Gorgonzola responds to Imoco Conegliano, crashing Vallefoglia in three sets and keeping in the wake of the leaders. One set, the first, played at a very high level and with two untransformed set balls, deludes the Megabox that it can play the same game as Novara. But once the first part was lost in the sprint, Bonafede’s team melted under the blows of Karakurt and Herbots, excellently triggered by Ilaria Battistoni, who also took home the MVP title of the race. Lavarini has to give up his Americans: out of Washington due to the injury that occurred in Busto Arsizio, not even Hancock is in the game, blocked by a neck problem. The diagonal is therefore the one made up of Battistoni and Karakurt, with Herbots flanked by Bosetti in the band, while Chirichella and Bonifacio are the power plants. Bonafede starts with the diagonal Berasi-Bjelica, Kosheleva and Newcombe in hand, Jack-Kisal and Mancni in the center. Vallefoglia’s departure is immediately launched, with its centimeters under the net that are felt, while Igor’s attack struggles to mesh (3-6). Novara returns thanks to Herbots’ turn and puts the arrow on 11-10, with the ace of Bonifacio. Another ace, by Karakurt, is worth the first break of the blues and advises Bonafede to time out at 13-11. But the Megabox is there and hangs up at 14 with Bjelica’s winning line, the best of the green-and-whites so far. Again point to point (17 all) and again a break signed by Herbots for Novara, which however does not find the decisive shoulder and is caught up again by Vallefoglia, dragged by Kosheleva and Bjelica (11 points in two). Bonafede’s team also reports ahead and arrives at the set ball first at 23-24. Igor cancels two of them and then closes with a great Karakurt wall on Newcombe and Bosetti’s ace (reviewed at Videocheck). Novara restarts with another attitude in the second set, with an immediate double break that brings her to 4-1, with Bosetti on fire. Igor raises her wall, so far decidedly subdued, and for Vallefoglia it becomes difficult to put the ball on the ground (7-2). Bonafede plays the Carcaces card for Newcombe, but it is always Novara who commands the set, with Karakurt starting to pass regularly and also finding two who push the hosts on 18-11. This time the Megabox does not have the strength to react and the set goes to archive on 25-16, again with the Turkish opposite of Novara unleashed (7 in the set). Igor does not let go of the accelerator even at the start of the third set, again with Karakurt (17 for her at the end) impregnable, Bosetti and Fersino to give something more in defense and Herbots who hits hard with the joke (ace for the 7-4). Battistoni is also exalted, who to crown a level performance in the direction, adds a great wall point for the 9-5. The Megabox, on the other hand, does not seem to believe it anymore and sinks under the blows of Novara, who places another break on Caterina Bosetti’s serve, flying off to 16-8. Igor allows himself a small empty pass, Vallefoglia from 19-10 dates back to 20-15, but Bosetti and Bonifacio push it back and Novara closes it 25-17.
