It seems that Concord did not receive a warm welcome by the public, at least judging by what they are first reactions after the State of Play last night and the parameters recorded on the YouTube video, which demonstrate a lack of appreciation for Firewalk Studios’ first game.
As we saw, last night’s State of Play opened with an in-depth presentation of Concord, shown with a story trailer and one dedicated to gameplay. Well, neither of the two seems to have impressed in a particularly positive way, with the second in particular being little appreciated.
Obviously these are first impressions and in any case the parameters taken into consideration are not entirely significant, but it could indicate another complicated start for a live service game exclusively on PS5 and PC, unless it is then able to reveal itself a great success like Helldivers 2.
An important live service for Sony
Based on what was found, the cinematic trailer introducing Concord’s story has approximately 77% negative ratings.
Obviously these are not indicative of the total overall response of all users, but it is still a potentially important signal.
Even worse is Concord’s gameplay trailer, which surpassed the82% negative ratings: beyond the thumbs down, several comments on social media seem to focus on the excessive similarity with Overwatch or the Guardians of the Galaxy and on a general lack of “soul” for the Firewalk game, although obviously it is early for such an evaluation.
As we saw in yesterday’s presentation, Concord has an important role as one of the major live services arriving this year from Sony: it is a Competitive 5v5 team hero shootercharacterized by a particular science fiction setting.
