Conagua warns of more rain today in Puebla, Veracruz, CDMX, Edomex, Morelos and Tlaxcala

Don’t be surprised by the rain and bring your umbrella! Thursday is expected to be a day with adverse weather conditions in various regions of the country, including the Central Mexico Zone. So here you have the Weather forecast for today September 19, 2024.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) and the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) predicts very heavy rains from 50 to 75 mm today in Puebla and Veracruz. In other central regions, such as the Mexico City, State of Mexico, Morelos and Tlaxcala, The rains will be heavy, with accumulations of between 25 and 50 mm.

This rainy panorama will be accompanied by electrical discharges, gusts of wind and, in some cases, hail. In a less severe scene, Showers are forecast in the state of Hidalgo.

Strong gusts of wind in Puebla!

The intensity of the rainfall can cause landslides, an increase in the levels of rivers and streams, overflows and possible flooding, especially in low-lying areas. As for the winds, strong winds are expected. gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour (km/h) in the Gulf of California and in areas of Puebla.

These meteorological phenomena will be caused by the combination of several factors, such as a low pressure channel that extends over the north and center of the country, the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, tropical wave number 23 that crosses the south and west of the territory, as well as tropical wave number 24 that will enter the Yucatan Peninsula.

Low temperatures!

The thermometer predicts Minimum temperatures at dawn, between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius, in high areas of the State of Mexico, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.

In the Valley of Mexico region, partly cloudy skies are expected in the morning and cool weather, especially in mountainous areas where temperatures could drop to less than 5 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, the sky will remain cloudy, with a mild to warm atmosphere.

Winds will blow from the east and northeast, with speeds of between 10 and 20 km/h and gusts of up to 40 km/h in storm areas. Temperatures in Mexico City will range between 14 and 27 degrees Celsiuswhile in Toluca, State of Mexico, minimum temperatures of 10 degrees and maximum temperatures of up to 25 degrees are expected.
