Given the various publications in the media and social networks about the development of Hurricane Alberto In the Atlantic Ocean, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) of the National Water Commission (Conagua) has come out to deny the information.
In a statement, Conagua indicated that, for the moment, There is no area with potential for cyclonic development in the Atlantic basin that may affect the national territory.
Therefore, the federal agency urged the population to remain alert and dispel false information that circulates on social networks, inviting them to obtain information through official channels.
Although currently no area of instability has been detected in the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea that could generate Cyclone Alberto, the SMN continues to monitor weather phenomena 24 hours a day.
The rains begin in Mexico
Despite the absence of a possible Hurricane Alberto, the SMN has predicted rain for today in various regions of southeastern Mexico. Very heavy rains are expected in Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán, as well as heavy rains in Tabasco, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
These precipitations are the result of the combination of a low pressure center over the Yucatan Peninsula, a low pressure channel in the Mexican southeast and the presence of the monsoon trough near the coasts of the South Pacific.
It is important to remember that we are in tropical cyclone season, which means that conditions exist for the development of some cyclonic system. In the event that such a system is formed, the SMN will issue timely notices through its official information channels.
In case of any eventuality, The population is urged to follow civil protection recommendations and stay up to date with SMN updates through its official channels, available at www.gob.mx/conagua and https://smn.conagua.gob.mx, as well as on the social media accounts @conagua_mx and @conagua_clima on Twitter and on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/conaguamx.
