Comment Will Iivo Niskanen get a new take on Aleksandr Bolshunov in the message? – then the buns would be well in the oven

There are two question marks in advance associated with Finland’s message performance.

Finland there are two question marks hanging on the ski stands of male skiers in Sunday’s long post.

One of them is bigger and the other is hopefully smaller.

Finland will set out to achieve a long-term dream in the expected skiing order Ristomatti Hakola, Iivo Niskanen, Perttu Hyvärinen and Joni Mäki.

In two normal distance races, it has been seen that Niskanen and Hyvärinen are in good shape.

On the other hand, Hakola, who has competed with the Savo duo since the junior series, has a bigger question mark.

When Niskanen celebrated the third Olympic victory of his career on 15 kilometers on Friday and Hyvärinen smiled at the best value achievement of his career (sixth place), Hakola was disappointed and worried about his own performance.

It was quite understandable, as these games, and especially their messages, are the last realistic chance for 30-year-old Hakola to win an Olympic medal.

Hakola’s ranking was 28th, and Niskanen lost almost three minutes. Hakola thought it was his worst traditional competition in five years.

From these from the bottom up Hakola’s tune in the opening part of the message is a big mystery. Among other things, he will face another major Russian winner of the Olympic Committee Alexei Chservotkinwhich was ranked fifth at 15 miles.

So if Niskanen gets a new shot in the second leg from the start Alexander Bolshunov Hakola has been a great success and Finland has the buns well in the oven.

Another question mark is anchor Joni Mäki. The sprint went great on Tuesday, and fourth place said Mäki was in the attack.

Now, however, instead of a few three-minute runs, you have to cope in almost half an hour and three laps on a 3.3-kilometer track with a difference in altitude of 56 meters, almost double the sprint track.

At an altitude of 1,700 meters, it is a tough challenge for Mäki, whose international performance on normal trips is rare.

During the women’s post, the weather was slippery due to snow moisture than in previous races. If this is also the case on Sunday, it may be a small advantage, especially for Mäki.

Finland the men last won an Olympic medal in a 4×10 mile post 24 years ago. It is also 13 years since the most recent World Cup medal.

In addition to the Russian Olympic Committee team, Norway is a big favorite to win. Finland is basically struggling for bronze with France and Sweden.
