The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts for this Monday a front that will affect most of the northern half of the peninsula, with cloudiness and generally weak rainfall. Maximum temperatures will tend to decrease significantly in the Cantabrian Sea, and with increases on the eastern coast and the Balearic Islands.
The week begins with a trend towards instability in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, due to the passage of a front from west to east that will leave cloudiness and generally weak rainfall in most of the northern half. After passing through it, it will tend to be slightly cloudy from west to east.
The rains are expected to be more abundant in the Cantabrian Sea, and it is not ruled out that they could end up occasionally affecting points of the Southern plateau, the western end of Andalusia and the Betic systems. They can also be in the form of snow in the Pyrenees, where the level drops to 1,700/1,900 meters.
Likewise, there could be some showers at the end of the day in the north of the Balearic Islands.
In the Canary Islands, a DANA is also likely to leave unstable weather in the western islands, although there is uncertainty depending on its final position.
The precipitation seems to occur at sea, but it is not ruled out that both the rains and the storms could become strong and/or persistent. More stable weather with intervals of high clouds in the eastern islands.
In the Ebro and the depressions of the northeast there will be morning mists and fogs, which can be dense and persistent. They can also occur, but more isolated, on the eastern coasts of the peninsula, the northern plateau and the Balearic Islands. Probable weak haze in the Canary Islands and in the southwest of the peninsula.
Maximum temperatures will tend to decrease, notably in the Cantabrian Sea, and with increases on the eastern coast and the Balearic Islands. The minimums will decrease in the Canary Islands, Cantabrian Sea and the western third, with few changes in the rest. Weak frosts in the mountains of the extreme north.
It will blow east in the Strait and Alborán tending to the west; winds with a northern component in Galicia and a predominance of the western component in the rest, weak in the interior and moderate on the coast, with the Cerizo and Tramuntana tending to establish themselves at the end, when strong intervals are expected in Empordà . In the Canary Islands the trade winds will blow.
