Sinaloa.- The Department of Citizen Services alert citizens about trying to extortion that have been registered in the city of Mazatlan.
Éric Vega Breceda, in charge of dispatching the place, mentioned that people get a call and refer to who speak on behalf of Citizen Services. Then they mention the name of the mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres and they comment on reports they make and ask for money. There was a user who was asked for up to 5 thousand pesos.
They call on citizens to hang up immediately as soon as they start with the extortion.
They have six cases so far this year. They don’t know where they get the phone numbers from. After they announce that they are from Citizen Attention, they mention that they are part of organized crime to try extortion. They even mark people who have not made any reports.
