The musician, who has managed to be the youngest violin professor in Spain, will be accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the city of Alicante
The violinist from Cieza Antonio García Egea (Cieza, 1989), in whose curriculum stands out having managed to be the youngest Violin professor in Spain, offers this Saturday at the Gran Teatro de Elche a concert together with the symphony orchestra of this city, in the who will act as a soloist during the performance of ‘Sinfonía Española’, by the French violinist and composer Edouard Lalo. The performance, which will begin at 8:00 p.m., is part of the so-called ‘Spanish Night’, in which pieces belonging to zarzuelas such as ‘La Revoltosa’, ‘Doña Francisquita’ or ‘La verbena de la Paloma’ can be heard.
The trajectory of this ciezano musician is one of stardom. Only 21 years old, Antonio García Egea had the opportunity to play for Plácido Domingo, with whom he has shared the stage on several occasions. Of him, the tenor has said: «I would like to confirm that the violinist Antonio García Egea demonstrates a great capacity as an instrumentalist and artist. His discipline and dedication predict an excellent career for him. For all these reasons, I am pleased to express my warm appreciation for his qualities as an artist and I recommend him to take on musical competitions at the highest level ».
For when in Cieza?
Until now, his musical career has not ceased to give satisfaction to this young artist who has given concerts in China, the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Spain and Lithuania, among other countries. He regrets, however, that in his native Cieza he has not yet been called to perform for his neighbors.
Despite this, he does not forget his beginnings and appreciates his career at the Municipal School of Music and with his teacher, Concepción Fernández Morote “where I knew how to channel the vocation for the violin that I have had since I was born,” he told LA TRUTH this week the musician –and brother of the PP politician Teodoro García Egea–.
Later, already in Murcia, he studied middle and higher grades until he decided to go to the prestigious Mozarteum University of Salzburg, in Austria, to study for a master’s degree. He continued later at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and later in Vienna with Professor Boris Kuschnir.
All this earned him to get the Violin chair at only 28 years old, but before that he had already obtained a place in the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra. His latest achievements include obtaining a position as Violin Professor at the Murcia Superior Conservatory of Music and he is a guest concertmaster of the Murcia Region Symphony Orchestra, as well as a founding member of the Quercus trio.

Meanwhile, Antonio García Egea proudly boasts of having been honored by the Pro Music Association of Murcia as ‘Pro Musician of the Year 2012’ for his career as a musician in solo and chamber music and for five seasons at the prestigious Orchestra of the Valencian Community. In addition, he has worked under the direction of directors such as Valery Gergiev, George Pretre, Riccardo Chailly, Vladimir Jurowski, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Omer Meir Wellber, Nicola Luisotti and Plácido Domingo, among others.
