Chris Hemsworth on Thor: Love & Thunder: “I’ve become a parody of myself”

Chris Hemsworth recently broke his silence regarding his future in acting, reassuring fans that he has no plans to retire, despite a difficult year and a serious back injury. The Australian actor, known for his iconic role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universehighlighted a deep reflection on his career and the types of films and roles he intends to accept in the future.

During an interview, Hemsworth stated that he had recently turned down some big action films, criticizing the lack of a solid script:

I also turned down big action films that lacked a solid script

Furthermore, the actor wanted to definitively clarify the rumors about his health, rejecting speculations who wanted it Alzheimer’s patient after the discovery of being a carrier of genes that predispose to the disease.

This really pissed me off because, even though I had made it clear that it wasn’t a death sentence, the news spread that I had dementia and was reconsidering my life, thinking about retirement and so on.

The actor also expressed regret for his performance in the film “Thor: Love and Thunder” directed by Taika Waititi, admitting that he let himself be carried away too much by improvisation:

Reflecting on his period of forced rest and the management of his time and energy, Hemsworth confessed that he felt the need to slow down:

«I was exhausted. Nothing amused me like I used to, I made one film after another and went on promotional tours. I was married and had three young children, and it was all happening at the same time. I began to understand that I had to select and be more critical and to ask myself: Why am I making this film? Why don’t they call me Scorsese or Tarantino?

Despite doubts and reflections, Hemsworth is excited about his role in the next one movie Furiosa: A Mad Max Sagadirected by George Miller. The actor waited almost ten years to play the character of Dementus, ever since he was impressed by it Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015. Director George Miller praised Hemsworth, describing him as a much more complex and thoughtful person than he could imagine.
