Germany's ambassador to China, Patricia Flor, has been summoned by the Chinese Foreign Minister.
Beijing – After the espionage affair, the dispute between China and Germany is entering the next round. According to media reports, Beijing has now summoned the German ambassador, Patricia Flor. The background is the recent arrests of four Germans who are said to have spied for Chinese secret services. Flor announced this on X (formerly Twitter)..
“We do not tolerate espionage in Germany, regardless of which country it comes from. We protect our democracy and our constitutional state with constitutional means,” Flor wrote. The diplomat further explained that the Federal Prosecutor General would continue to carry out investigations.
At the beginning of the week, the arrest of two men and a woman made headlines. The three Germans are accused of spying for China and, among other things, obtaining information on military technology. However, Beijing rejected these allegations. He is accused of repeatedly passing on information from the European Parliament to China in January. Krah himself denied any guilt and wants to continue to run as the top candidate for his party on June 9th.
