Russia has developed a children’s bulletproof vest “Firefly” for border areas
Russia has developed a children’s bulletproof vest “Firefly”. About it RIA News said the general director of the developer Evgeny Bataev.
He explained that the equipment is intended to protect children in the border regions of Russia. “They are constantly under threat, not all children have been evacuated from there – they need to go with their mothers to the clinic, store, and so on, which means they must be reliably protected,” the entrepreneur said.
The new product was created according to the BR-2 class (anti-fragmentation protection and firing a regular bullet from a Yarygin pistol), while it is possible to enhance the armor protection to the BR-3 class (firing a bullet with a heat-strengthened steel core from a Yarygin).
Negotiations are currently underway with regional authorities on the supply of Fireflies. At the same time, private schools, kindergartens and hospitals are already purchasing body armor.
