Everything indicates that, meteorologically at least, New Year’s Eve is going to be very different from Christmas. If December 24 and 25 were marked by copious rains that ‘bathed’ a large part of Spain, the last days of the year seem to be different. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), there will be fronts driven by temperate and humid winds from the Atlantic that will make the rains continue in the first days of this week.
However, as the days go on and New Years Eve approaches, an anticyclone will begin to reach all of Spain, according the time is. Thus, this Monday there will still be rains in the north of the country, but from Tuesday until the end of the year the protagonists will be the sun and the mists, which will form in inland areas, such as Castilla y León, where temperatures will be low first thing in the morning.
However, in most of the country the anticyclone will bring relatively warm temperatures, atypical for the time in which we are, just entered winter. Thus, there will be a thermal anomaly of about 10ºC in the last days of the year due to a ridge of warm air located over the peninsula, which will cause at noon the temperatures are pleasant, according to eltiempo.es.
The situation suggests that we could have temperatures well above normal at the end of the year: the anomalies could be + 10ºC at the 850hPa level on December 31, 🌡️ Who said cold? 😏🔥 pic.twitter.com/1wg6qH8rCj

Clear skies
These meteorological predictions coincide with those of Aemet for the days between December 29 and January 1: “Skies will remain predominantly clear, with some low-lying clouds during the early hours of the day“, they indicate in a statement.
However, from the Agency do not rule out that there is “some weak rainfall in Galicia and the Pyrenees“and the appearance of” fogs in the South plateau, and more extensive and lasting in the North plateau “. In addition, they indicate a”decrease in minimum temperatures and increase in maximum temperaturesFinally, the winds will be “light”, with winds from the north in Ampurdán, up in the Strait and south in the literal Galicia.
