With the aim that blackouts or any energy interruption do not spoil the electoral contest on June 2, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) issued a statement guaranteeing the electricity supply.
According to the statement, the CFE worked in coordination with the National Electoral Institute (INE) to implement a series of actions that seek to guarantee a smooth electoral process regarding the electricity supply in the key properties for the development of the elections.
Maintenance and improvements in electrical infrastructure
As part of its preparations, the CFE has carried out maintenance and improvement work on more than 26,000 kilometers of lines medium voltage that provide electricity to INE properties.
Through an agreement with the INE, the CFE will support the electricity supply with 692 workers operating 333 emergency plants in the strategic properties designated by the Institute to supervise the electoral process.
Besides, 1,033 electrical workers will be deployed in INE buildings and in strategic points of the General Distribution Networksas well as in control and operation centers.
Also the CFE will maintain constant monitoring throughout the electoral processgiving priority to the attention of any eventuality in the properties involved in the election day.
Finally, the electric company will collaborate closely with electoral authorities at the national, state and municipal level, as well as with Civil Protection, to ensure the appropriate response to any situation that may arise.
