A confrontation between taxi drivers and security agents on Avenida Insurgentes Sur, near the El Caminero Metrobús station, in Mexico City (CDMX), left a preliminary balance of seven police officers injured and three official vehicles damaged.
According to reports, the riots took place in Colonia La Joya, Mayor’s Office of Tlalpanwhen the agents tried to disperse a protest and were attacked with stones by the protesters.
However, in a video that circulates on social networks, it is evident how a taxi driver ran over police officers and then fled. At the moment it can be seen that several security agents were injured.
As a result of these events, The arrest of three people allegedly involved in the incident was achieved. However, it was reported that the situation is becoming increasingly tense in the area, with a group of taxi drivers blocking traffic on Avenida Insurgentes Sur and Melchor Ocampo, in the Chimalcoyotl neighborhood of Tlalpan.
