Participation at 6:00 p.m. stands at 45.80%
Participation in the Catalan elections this Sunday stands at 6:00 p.m. at 45.80%. This is one of the lowest voter turnout figures historically and is more than 20 points below 2017, when Catalonia was experiencing the height of the processes.
Even so, this year’s participation at this time is 0.19 points higher than that of the 2021 elections when the turnout at the polls was 45.61% at the same time. However, the comparison is not very relevant, since that year there were still restrictions due to the covid pandemic.
By province, 46.21% of those registered have already voted in Barcelona; in Girona, 45.83%; in Lleida, 43.34%; and in Tarragona, 44.06%. Compared with the data from the unique 2021 regional elections, in Barcelona and Tarragona participation increases, while in Lleida and Girona it decreases.
