The General Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Castilla y León has risen 4.8 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year, 4.7 points more than the national average, which has increased by 0. 1 percent, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In this way, industrial production continues for another month in positive figures in Castilla y León and chain three months of growth.
It is also the third best evolution of industrial production in the country, which increased in eight autonomous communities and fell in another nine. Aragón (+5.9%), La Rioja (+4.9%) and Castilla y León (+4.8%) were the ones that registered the greatest increases, while on the opposite side are the Canary Islands, Cantabria and Asturias with declines of 8.1%, 5.2% and 4.1%, respectively.
And so far this year, industrial production in Castilla y León has increased by 5.3 percent, again better data than average which has recorded an increase of 0.2 percent.
By economic destination, consumer goods as a whole rose 0.7 percent in the Community with a decrease of 15.5 percent in the case of durable goods and 1.1 percent more for non-durable goods. As for the rest, capital goods decreased by 8.1 percent, intermediate goods recorded 8.9 percent more and energy goods, 28.4 percent more.
