The third round of the Carrera Cup Italia 2022 takes place this weekend at Mugello and, under the banner of Bonaldi Motorsport, Andrea Fontana is also ready to take to the track (pictured above with Jorge Lorenzo). The driver from Belluno, on his return to the Porsche Italia series after a few seasons, proved to be one of the protagonists of the single-make, even if some unforeseen events did not allow him to achieve significant results.
In the last round held in Misano Adriatico, for example, Fontana led the dances for part of race 2 before running into an off track that compromised any chance of victory. Beyond the concrete results, he certainly showed that he has the ability to fight for the top positions, as well as the Bergamo team of knowing how to provide a performing car.
In a championship that is proving to be of high profile with many drivers able to compete for the victory, now the Tuscan three-day event becomes fundamental to score heavy points and climb positions in a still relatively short ranking.
Team manager Marco Bielli also clearly underlines this: “In Misano we collected an excellent fifth place (in race 1, ed), but undoubtedly we also left a very important position on the road. The Mugello round is the right opportunity to start collecting what we deserve. “
Over the weekend the two races are scheduled for Saturday at 4.10 pm and Sunday at 12.30 pm, both broadcast in live streaming on www.carreracupitalia.it and live on TV on Sky Sport Arena. Race 2 will also have free-to-air live coverage on Cielo (digital terrestrial channel 26).
