The Italian coach of Real Madrid, Carlos Ancelotti, going through a difficult time. His statements to an Italian media caused a stir, as he said that the club would not go to the 2025 Club World Cup.
hard topic
Ancelotti, almost at the same time and on his social networks, wrote and assured that his statements were misinterpreted. That’s one thing. The other thing that is harshly talked about in Spain is that the DT can go to jail.
“According to information from ‘El Mundo’, the State Attorney has increased the accusation against him for two tax crimes committed during his first stage at the white club to five years in prison. This decision follows the line of what was previously established by the Prosecutor’s Office, which had also identified tax fraud, but requested a lower penalty,” warns Sport de Barcelona.
And he adds: “The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Madrid had already requested in March a sentence of four years and nine months in prison for Ancelotti, accusing him of defrauding a total of 1,062,079 euros in the fiscal years of 2014 and 2015. Specifically, he is attributed 386,361 euros defrauded in 2014 and 675,718 euros in 2015”.
The newspaper points out that the “writing from the State Attorney’s Office to which El Mundo has had access indicates that Ancelotti “was obliged to pay taxes in Spain for all of the income obtained. However, the Real Madrid coach only included in his income tax return the remuneration for his work at Madrid and not the profits from the exploitation of his image rights.
It is noted that the treasury believes that there was “concealment and lack of declaration” for that income. “In 2021 Ancelotti went to court and in his statement he acknowledged that he did not pay taxes correctly for the 2014 tax year due to “bad advice.” Ancelotti spoke about the subject last March.
“It is a story that began in 2015 with a statement. The Prosecutor’s Office believes that I was a resident in Spain and I believe that I was not. I have already paid the fine and the money is in the prosecutor’s office,” said the Madrid coach.
