At least three people died in the explosion that damaged the Crimean bridge, Russian investigators announced this Saturday, who claimed to have identified the owner of the bomb truck that caused the detonation.
“According to preliminary data, three people died,” probably “the passengers of a vehicle that was near the truck when it exploded,” the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement.
“The bodies of two victims, a man and a woman, have already been removed from the water,” the Committee said, without giving details about the third victim.

The body, in charge of the main criminal investigations in Russia, also claimed to have identified the truck and its owner, suspected of being behind the explosion.
The owner would be an inhabitant of the Krasnodar region, in southern Russia. “An investigation has been opened into his place of residence. The route of the truck and the relevant documents are being studied,” the investigators added.

The truck explosion caused a large fire and damaged part of the bridge, which cIt connects southern Russia with the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014.
The infrastructure, carried out by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin and inaugurated in 2018, it is a fundamental infrastructure for the transport of military material to the Russian troops deployed in Ukraine.
Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for this attack.
