Tim Blake Nelson – one of the actors of Captain America: Brave New World – said that Marvel Studios and director Julius Onah wanted to make a “reality-based superhero movie” with the film that will bring the new Captain America to the big screen.
Guest of Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, Nelson, who will reprise the role of Samuel Sterns aka The Leader in the fourth Captain America film, spoke about a superhero-themed but more concrete film, which also relates to the practical approach adopted for the creation of his character.
Samuel Sterns, played by Nelson, was last seen in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, lying on the ground, where his transformation into who comic fans know as The Leader appears to have begun. The character was influenced by Bruce Banner’s blood, greatly increasing his mental abilities, so it’s likely that Brave New World will use this event to reintroduce the character.
Nelson’s words on Captain America: Brave New World
“I’m very happy with [Brave New World]. It’s a wonderfully directed film by Julius Onah,” Nelson said. “As for my character, I can say we did everything we could, and that was fully supported by Marvel, and I’m so grateful to Kevin Feige and [al produttore] Nate Moore for supporting him: they were 100% on board to make the character as practical as possible, avoiding using digital special effects“.
“Thanks to Marvel and also to Julius [Onah] that he wanted to achieve a superhero film based in reality, as oxymoronic as it may seem” he added. “In terms of our approach to The Leader, we followed the same path and I was really gratified to have worked in this way.”
We remind you that Bucky will not appear in Captain America: Brave New World and that the release is scheduled for February 12, 2025 in cinemas.
